“The Anguilla Experience – Feeling is Believing”. Tying the knot on Anguilla is as easy, relaxed and romantic as the island itself. With 33 awesome beaches, friendly smiles and a casual elegance; it’s no wonder Modern Bride’s readers named Anguilla as one of the best honeymoon destinations in the world. Anguilla is made up of one ‘large island’ 16 miles long by 3 miles wide and a number of smaller uninhabited islands.

Although tropical, the island is relatively dry, with little temperature variation from month to month. The flat island is easily reached via nonstop service from Puerto Rico or St. Maarten. It is also accessible by private boat.

Things To Do in Anguilla

Diving: Snorkeling and scuba are a big attraction on Anguilla. Anguilla has seven Marine Parks and is known for it's coral reef and wreckage dives. There is abundant sea life and great opportunities for underwater photography.

Sailing Competitions: The tradition of sailboat racing originated years ago, when Anguillans returned from fishing trips and raced their boats home. Now it is Anguilla's national sport and there are several large-scale competitions each year.

Cuisine of Anguilla

Anguilla continually wins culinary competitions and is known for their gourmet restaurant serving traditional and international fare. The island is also home to numerous internationally recognized wine cellars.

Although fresh fish is caught daily, most of the ingredients come by way of St. Martin. Food is moderately expensive, but you won’t find much else to spend money on. The island's barbecues, fast food restaurants, and unpretentious restaurants and bars serve meals ranging from $5(USD) to $15(USD). Meals at moderately priced restaurants will cost between $15(USD) and $30(USD), while the island's most prestigious restaurants have entrees that run from $30(USD) to $50(USD). Three course meals can easily cost $40(USD) to $60(USD) and up, depending on the quality of the restaurant.

Local Favorites: Johnny cakes (without yeast), pigeon peas with seasoned rice, and shredded salt fish served with peppers and onions (for breakfast).
