St Lucia’s iconic Pitons – a pair of volcanic spires that vault heavenward from the Caribbean Sea – define one of the region’s most romantic destinations. Though the trademark vistas that surround the Pitons are the most memorable, St Lucia delivers a robust varied scenery and night life.
St Lucia is blessed with an abundance of quality hotels with excellent service. Anse Chastanet, Ladera, Jade Mountain to name a few are ones that are unique in their offerings, vistas and food. Truly a delight for hosting a destination wedding or honeymoon.
Things To Do in St. Lucia
Attractions & Sight Seeing: Historical, cultural and heritage sites can be found throughout the island. Local tour companies combining several of the sites and attractions offer a large variety of tours. Most recently St. Lucia has developed a multiplicity of community based heritage tourism sites, these are well marked with Heritage Tourism Site signage.
Boating: St Lucia offers premier locations to charter from any place on the island. With the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Atlantic on the other it is also ideal for fishing trips. Yacht and or deep sea fishing charters are usually available at Rodney Bay Marina and Marigot Harbour.
Windsurfing, para-sailing, water-skiing: are also available and equipment can be purchased or rented generally on the beach or through your hotel.
Diving: The island’s jaw dropping geographical wonders meeting the water creates some of the dive sites in the Caribbean. Scuba and or snorkel gear equipment can be rented or bought either through your hotel or diving facilities. Classes or generally offered where you get your gear. Some great dive site
Keyhole Pinnacles: consists of 4 seamounts rising from incredible depths to within a few feet of the surface.
Superman’s Flight: a drift dive on a gentle wall which drops to 1,600 feet. At the base of Gros Piton the Coral Gardens rise from a depth of 15 to 50 feet and Anse La Raye, midway up the west coast is a superb wall and drift dive, where huge boulders cover a shallower slope creating fascinating formations to explore.
- Waiwinette Freighter: lies 90 feet below. The currents here make this dive extremely challenging, whereas further up the coast off Castries, there is a pleasant wreck dive in 20 feet of water for those
- Anse Chastanet: The shallows, with depths to 25ft can be entered directly from the beach. The reefs falls away from 20-140 ft in a unique coral wall that continues from Anse Chastaner Bay around the headland of Grand Caille and in towards the harbor of Soufriere.
- Anse La Raye: Known as one of the finest wall and drift dives in St Lucia can be found below a shallow wall. Interesting formations at the slope which consists of huge boulders, plays to ones imagination.
- Coral Gardens: Located at the base of the Gros Piton, the Coral Gardens offer breathtaking scenery above and below the water, where five finger coral runds from a depth of 15-50ft.
- Fairy Land: At the point of Anse Chastanet, a plateau named Fairy Land slopes gently from 40-60ft. Since strong currents here keep the corals and sponges clean and the viewing is excellent and, this site is ideal for underwater photography.
All- Terrain Vehicle Riding: Ride through country side, around plantations and through lush forest.
Biking: Bike tours or rentals are available for all levels of bikers and is becoming a very popular way to tour the island.

Cuisine of St. Lucia
Love the cuisine of St. Lucia, especially their local products. But of course you can find a mixture of international, fast food, and gourmet. Dining is casual chic except for a select few where a jacket maybe required.
Most notably, the fertile, volcanic soil of the island yields an enormous supply of produce, and the island is one of the leading banana exporters in the Caribbean, with six different varieties available. Some of the bananas even have a creamy sweet flavor that I have never tasted anywhere else. In addition to bananas, St. Lucia’s abundant tropical fruits include mangoes, papayas, pineapples, soursops, passionfruit, guavas, and coconuts. Local chefs combine the island’s fresh produce with a wide variety of equally fresh seafood to create tantalizing curries, Creole-style entrees, and pepperpot stews. Callaloo soup, made from a leafy green similar to spinach, is the national dish. The island’s outstanding cuisine has recently gained international recognition by garnering several gold medals in the regions most prestigious culinary competitions.
